The firm maintains separate law libraries in its District of Columbia and Virginia offices, of sufficient scope to handle most matters within the firm's practice areas, in the Washington metropolitan area. Computerized legal research is available through Lexis on every attorney's desktop computer. The firm maintains computerized "precedent files" of legal research and pleadings, that contain more than 1000 briefs and legal memoranda. Research or preparation of a pleading is often more efficiently accomplished by reliance on the precedent file rather than having to create the product anew. This results in a less costly product to the client, with no "value added" factor imposed. The firm's incentive to use such precedent materials is the edge it gives the firm in delivering cost effective services in an increasingly competitive market. |
