  • David Durbin has been defending a wide range of civil matters in the Washington Metropolitan area since 1978 when he joined the predecessor law firm after a one-year clerkship with United States District Judge George L. Hart, Jr.

 

  • During the 1980s and early 1990s, David headed the Firm's appellate practice section in addition to defending  professional malpractice claims involving lawyers, real estate and insurance brokers, accountants, registered representatives and other professionals. These cases have been litigated in the state and federal courts in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. David has also handled insurance coverage and bad faith cases, as well as commercial litigation and product liability claims.  David has also successfully handled the defense of legal malpractice claims arising out of patent litigation.

 

  • David has served as an officer of The Counsellors for four years, holding the presidency of this local lawyers group in 1993-94. He has also served as Treasurer for The Barristers.

 

  • In addition to participating as a discussion leader in various seminars for local clients on current matters of interest, David has made presentations to the Women's Bar Association and out-of-town clients on insurance and professional liability issues.

 

  • In 1997, the Firm, David and Jim Jordan were cited by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia for contributions to the Court's Pro Bono Program.
